1, 2, 3, 4, 3, 2, 1 lengths at Barton Springs.  I do believe that just might be the longest swim I've ever done.

My coach got there in the middle and I saw her as I finished.  She had an expression of "you are such a dumba$$" on her face.  I am an advocate the training principle "Consistency Trumps Volume".   And physically, I fully believe that is true.  But mentally, I needed this swim.  It was a confidence builder.

I can't speak for [info]deankat but I fully intend to swim long on Friday. Having said that, if there were 3 of us taking turns at the front, it would be really be sweet.

Everything I have ever read says that swim is the last thing to taper. Maintain run intensity, but not duration (risk of overuse injuries), keep biking and swimming. Then reduce bike duration, keep swimming. Swim, swim, swim. Low impact, low risk of injury (unless shoulder issues, which *knock on wood* I don't have).

YAY! I was dreading having to do my week-long swim alone. :)

Umm...I can't keep up with you guys in open water, so you may be trading off on twos instead.

I think Matt had said it was
2 lengths w/u
2 x 1 length building
3-4 x 1 length 1/2 fast, half recovery
1-2 length w/d (however many gets you back to the right side)

But I can't get to my email right now, so I can't verify that that's correct.

That's it, more or less. The cooldown should be however many lengths it takes to get you to an hour.
